our vision

by virtue of emerge's unique presence, children and adults,
individuals and families alike will have the opportunity to access high-
quality artistic training and creative enrichment geared toward
personal as well as professional development.

emerge's mission is to provide opportunities for children and adults in
central san diego county to nurture and create the self through
quality artistic training involving all facets of the artistic world.
 

our goals

• To provide our students with quality artistic training.
• To facilitate self development and personal growth through the arts.
• To encourage awareness of the self.
• To facilitate change through social awareness and action.
• To enhance the quality of the community as a whole by teaching  

   people to think both creatively and critically.

our philosophy

at emerge it is our philosophy that art is strongly linked to the spirit.
because we feel that creativity comes from within, we believe that
one may become an artist through the self-development process.
conversely, we also believe that art, itself, is one of the best ways to
facilitate such a self development process. while it is the job of the
teachers at emerge to guide and facilitate learning in each artistic
genre, it is ultimately the job of the individual student to harness his or
her own artistic potential.

at emerge we make the process of working on oneself from within
more manageable by providing the tools to do so. thus, along with
our wide variety of art related classes, we also offer yoga classes, a
monthly meditation workshop, and a free meditation space to all
take classes at emerge. we do so in the hope that our students will
students who make use of them to provide guidance in their artistic
and self development.
